Welcome to Kwagga Mall X-Rays. By using our services, you agree to the following terms and conditions. These terms are designed to ensure transparency, compliance with radiology service regulations, and a smooth experience for all patients. Please read them carefully.
1. Definitions
- “Company” refers to Kwagga Mall X-Rays, located at Kwagga Mall, Mpumalanga.
- “Patient” refers to any individual receiving X-ray services at Kwagga Mall X-Rays.
- “Services” include but are not limited to diagnostic X-rays, medical imaging, and radiology reporting.
- “Referring Healthcare Provider” refers to any doctor, hospital, clinic, or medical professional who requests an X-ray examination for a patient.
- “Medical Aid Provider” refers to private or government-funded healthcare schemes that cover diagnostic imaging services.
2. Scope of Services
2.1. Medical Imaging Services
- Kwagga Mall X-Rays provides general diagnostic X-ray services for medical and legal purposes.
- We do not offer MRI, CT scans, ultrasound, or specialised fluoroscopy unless otherwise stated.
2.2. Non-Diagnostic Consultation
- Our radiologists provide technical imaging but do not offer medical diagnoses, treatment plans, or prescriptions. Patients must consult their healthcare provider for interpretation and medical advice.
2.3. Service Availability
- Operating hours: Monday – Friday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM | Saturday: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM | Sunday & Public Holidays: Closed.
- Urgent X-ray requests outside these hours may require prior arrangement, subject to availability.
3. Appointment & Booking Policy
3.1. Appointments & Walk-Ins
- Patients may schedule an appointment online, via phone, or WhatsApp.
- Walk-ins are accepted but are subject to waiting times based on patient volume.
3.2. Cancellation & Rescheduling
- Patients must cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours in advance.
- Missed appointments without notice may result in a rescheduling fee.
3.3. Referral Requirements (Clarify with the client)
- Some X-rays may require a referral from a medical doctor for medical aid claims.
- Patients requesting personal or legal scans must acknowledge they are seeking imaging at their own discretion.
4. Payment Terms & Medical Aid Coverage
4.1. Pricing & Payment Policy
- Patients are responsible for full payment at the time of service, unless covered by a valid medical aid.
- Accepted payment methods: cash, card, EFT, and major medical aid providers.
4.2. Medical Aid Claims (Confirm with the client which medical aids are accepted)
- Patients must present a valid medical aid card and ID.
- Some medical aids may require pre-authorisation before the scan.
- If a medical aid does not cover the scan, the patient is responsible for payment.
4.3. Non-Payment & Outstanding Balances
- Unpaid balances must be settled before the patient receives their full X-ray report.
- Failure to pay may result in collection efforts and legal action.
5. Patient Responsibilities & Consent
5.1. Providing Accurate Medical Information
- Patients must disclose any pregnancy, medical implants, or prior injuries before the X-ray.
- Failure to disclose relevant health information may result in incorrect imaging and risks to patient safety.
5.2. Consent for Medical Imaging
- By receiving an X-ray, the patient acknowledges and consents to the radiation exposure risks.
- A guardian must sign a consent form for minors under 18 years of age.
5.3. Patient Conduct & Respect Policy
- Patients must cooperate with staff and follow radiology safety procedures.
- Disruptive, aggressive, or inappropriate behavior towards staff will result in service denial and possible legal action.
6. Results, Reports & Confidentiality
6.1. X-Ray Report Processing Time
- Standard X-ray results are available within a few hours on the same day.
- Certain complex cases may take 24-48 hours for a radiologist review.
6.2. Report Collection & Delivery
- Patients may collect reports in person or request electronic delivery. (Confirm if emailed results are an option.)
- Reports can be sent directly to the referring doctor if arranged in advance.
6.3. Confidentiality & Data Protection
- All patient records and X-ray images are strictly confidential and stored securely.
- Kwagga Mall X-Rays complies with South African POPIA (Protection of Personal Information Act) and ensures that patient data is not shared without consent.
7. Liability Disclaimer & Legal Compliance
7.1. Accuracy of Imaging Results
- While we provide high-quality imaging, X-rays are not 100% definitive, and additional tests may be needed for a full diagnosis.
- Kwagga Mall X-Rays is not liable for misinterpretation of X-ray reports by external medical professionals.
7.2. Limitation of Liability
- Kwagga Mall X-Rays is not responsible for any medical decisions or treatments made based on the imaging provided.
- We do not guarantee that X-ray results will be accepted by all medical aids, insurance companies, or legal entities.
7.3. Compliance with Health Regulations
- Our facility adheres to South African Radiation Protection and Health Standards.
- Radiology equipment is routinely calibrated to ensure safety and accuracy.
8. Amendments & Updates
8.1. Changes to Terms & Conditions
- Kwagga Mall X-Rays reserves the right to modify these terms at any time.
- Updated terms will be posted on our website, and continued use of our services indicates acceptance of changes.
